How to Ship Cheese (the Way We Do It)
We take extra care to ensure your cheese arrives fresh and ready to enjoy. Every refrigerated cheese order is carefully packed with insulated packaging and cold packs to help maintain proper temperatures during transit. We pack cheese orders fresh and send them out by UPS Monday through Friday, so your cheese spends as little time in transit as possible. During periods of extreme heat or severe weather, we may adjust shipping schedules to protect the quality of your cheese.
All orders ship by UPS. In Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois and Michigan, choose UPS Ground or a faster option at checkout. Everywhere else, orders ship UPS 2nd Day Air or faster so your cheese arrives cold and fresh, and orders to warm states are packed in a thermal bag with extra ice packs.
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your order and destination. We ship to the contiguous United States only, and we can't ship to P.O. boxes.
When should I order for Christmas?
As early as you can. Fresh boards and boxes for holiday pickup need at least 72 hours, and holiday weeks fill up fast, so earlier is better.
Why don't you ship cheese in the summer?
Wisconsin summers are wonderful, but they're not always cheese-friendly!
To protect the freshness, quality, and safety of our cheese, we pause nationwide refrigerated cheese shipping during June, July, and August, and that includes gift boxes with cheese inside. Don't worry, you can still shop our shelf-stable gift boxes and other eligible goodies year-round! Local pickup at our River Falls shop is also available throughout the summer.
Nationwide cheese shipping resumes in September, when temperatures are more favorable for transporting our Wisconsin cheeses.
Made Fresh, Pickup Only
Our signature charcuterie boards, Picnic and Cabin Boxes, and Gather Boards are thoughtfully prepared fresh to order and available for pickup at our River Falls shop. We kindly request at least 72 hours' notice for fresh orders so we can source and prepare the best ingredients. Need something sooner? Reach out! We'll do our best to accommodate when possible.
Planning a larger celebration? Our grazing tables are delivered and beautifully styled on-site, bringing the That Girl Brie experience right to your event.
Because fresh fruit, beautiful cheese, and cross-country shipping aren't exactly the best combination, our fresh boards and boxes are available for local pickup only.
When Your Cheese Arrives
- Unpack it right away and pop the cheese in the fridge.
- Feeling a little cool rather than ice cold is OK. If your package arrives warm, damaged, or you have any concerns about its freshness, please contact us right away so we can make it right. If the cheese feels warm, keep it refrigerated and do not consume it until we've reviewed your concern.
- Take cheese out 30 to 60 minutes before serving. Cold mutes flavor, so let it warm up a bit.
- Rewrap leftovers in cheese paper or parchment, then a loose layer of plastic or a container, so it can breathe without drying out.
- Store cheese in the crisper drawer, where the temperature stays steady.

Can I send cheese as a gift?
Absolutely. Add the recipient's address at checkout and a gift note in your cart. We'll pack it and send it on its way. Planning ahead for summer? Shelf-stable gift boxes are your best bet in June, July and August.
